They lock eyes, and Jillian's big blue ones are wide with embarrassment. The main character can't help but smile at the sight, and offers to help clean up the mess. As they work together, Jillian starts to relax, and they strike up a conversation about the book the main character is reading. Jillian reveals he's a bit of a tech whiz and has a soft spot for old-school sci-fi novels. The coffee shop's cozy atmosphere and the shared love for books set the stage for a budding romance.
